A special trip to Bad Aussee.
Heinz Hochstetter from Linz got to know us and our work at the beginning of the year in Oberndorf, and immediately afterwards invited us to his hometown of Bad Aussee.
“He said he had something that might interest us” Wooden model for fabric printing from his father in Bad Aussee, who shaped hand printing not only in this region.
Even from the outside, the house exuded a unique creativity that one could sense had grown over the years. Such complex and idiosyncratic craftsmanship often requires unique solutions, and this was already noticeable from the outside of the house.
Over coffee and cake, we learned more about the father's history and working methods. During our tour of the house, we discovered a few unusual and fascinating patterns.
We were able to take some wooden models with us and are looking forward to working with them.
It won't be an easy task. But what justifies the effort is already clear: there's a certain charm to working with the wooden models.
The precise placement and even pressure of the wooden model is a prerequisite for a good result, but irregularities that arise with each impression on the fabric bring the motif and ultimately the finished product to life.
.…and that’s what it’s all about – staying alive!
Just give it a try…
Time to change something, Strizi.
